Boris Johnson urges power companies to act ‘in the national interest’ to ease cost of living pressure

Boris Johnson has urged energy companies to help ease the pressure on vulnerable consumers in the face of soaring energy prices.

The Prime Minister insisted the Government will continue to work with the sector, following talks at Downing Street.

Despite the PM's calls for energy giants to act in the 'national interest', there was no new announcement of immediate help for hard-pressed families.
