Boris Johnson's resignation speech has been slammed by BBC viewers.
The Prime Minister issued a statement outside Downing Street today to confirm he will be stepping down as Tory leader. The resignation comes after Mr Johnson haemorrhaged support among his ministers and MPs.
More than 50 MPs have resigned from government or party roles since Tuesday night, when the mass exodus was triggered by the resignations of Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid from the Cabinet. Mr Johnson acknowledged that "in politics, no one is remotely indispensable" as he announced his resignation as party leader.

He added: "It is clearly now the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of that party and therefore a new Prime Minister. And I've agreed with Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of our backbench MPs, that the process of choosing that new leader should begin now and the timetable will be announced next week.
"And I've today appointed a Cabinet to serve, as I will, until a new leader is in place." However, viewers following the speech on Twitter were outraged the outgoing Prime Minister did not apologise or take responsibility for things going wrong in his administration.
Caz said: "No apologies, no regrets, no self reflection, no responsibility taken, blames everyone else, deluded about accomplishments."
Sarah added: "Zero self reflection or responsibility from #BorisJohnson and now we have a leader / cabinet hobbling along until the Autumn deciding god knows what! It’s dangerous."
Clary commented: "Still no apology, still no taking responsibility, still have to put up with him until a new leader is voted in. He needs to go now and a caretaker pm put in place."
Keeley said: "Not even an apology to the British public ...just waffled on about himself .Should just have left through the back door"
Graham tweeted : "No contrition. No apology. Blaming herd mentality of a party for his demise. Even now no self reflection or taking responsibility."
