BORIS Johnson’s new neighbours apparently aren’t best pleased about the ex-PM and MP’s arrival and they’ve made their feelings clear.
Photos shared with the Daily Mirror show that some neighbours put up EU flags in their gardens after Johnson moved into his new rural home.
The former Tory leader and his wife Carrie moved to Brightwell-cum-Sotwell near Wallingford, Oxfordshire in May.
A source told the newspaper: “Some neighbours are not exactly elated Boris has moved in. His arrival has caused a kerfuffle, as the man himself might say.
“One villager put up the EU flag and it’s caught on among a few others too. Let’s hope he sees the funny side.”
Many took to Twitter to share their delight at the news with one user commenting: “This is so funny I need to buy everyone involved a beer.”
“What a jolly good idea. May I suggest we also do this in Keir Starmer’s constituency”, said another.
Things aren’t all bad for Boris though, who seems to have got his priorities in order since stepping down as an MP with the Mirror also reporting that he is applying for planning permission for a swimming pool.
Johnson was forced to resign as an MP last month prior to the release of the damning Commons report which found he had lied to Parliament over partygate.
More Twitter users commented on the story with one saying it was “hilarious” and another saying if they lived next door to him they would “put up loads of flags”.
