Boris Johnson is officially set to resign today (July 7) as the Conservative leader after ministers and MPs made clear his position was now untenable.
It is being widely reported that he will remain as Prime Minister until a successor is in place which is expected to be around the time of the Conservative Party conference in October.
News of his departure comes after more than 50 MPs have now resigned from government or party roles since Tuesday (July 5) with more handing in their resignation letters before 9am this morning.
