Boris Johnson told UK faces food ‘crisis’ over staff shortages as he picks ‘beautiful’ courgettes on farm

The UK needs more fruit and vegetable pickers to avoid an “absolute crisis” in the food industry, the Prime Minister was told on Monday.

Boris Johnson said it was clear more people were needed to “pick courgettes” as he launched the Government's new food strategy at a farm in Cornwall.
