A former Eton master has lashed out at Boris Johnson and other senior Tories who attended the elite private school – saying they had damaged the “very fabric” of the country.

John Claughton said he had “failed” to educate former pupils such as the former PM, former Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg and ex-chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng properly.
