Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard has described Anthony Gordon as a 'frightening' talent and opened up on how much he enjoyed listening to Frank Lampard during his non-league team's defeat to Everton.
The National League outfit more than matched their Premier League opponents in the opening 45 minutes at Goodison Park as clear cut chances for either side were hard to come by.
However, a Salomon Rondon brace in the second half was enough to secure the Blues a 2-0 victory and set up a quarter-final showdown at top-flight rivals Crystal Palace in the process.
And when reflecting on the game post-match, Garrard spoke of his pride at how his players were able to keep the game goalless until his opposite number Lampard made a key change at the break.

He said: “We had a game plan and they had a lot of the ball but their quality in the final third wasn’t great.
“They didn’t really get up the side of us and try and get a numerical advantage down the side of us, but that’s exactly what they did in the second half.
"But the fact we have come to Everton in the first half and kept them at 0-0 is a credit to the team.
“We worked on it this week. Shutting the gaps, compact, but they went up several gears in the second half and when you bring on Richarlison and the way he and Rondon worked together.
“Gordon is unbelievable and I said it pre-match, he is frightening and such a talent. So I’m just thankful that we didn’t open up too much because I think they could have had three or four.
“It is just a shame that we haven’t had many moments to really get the crowd at it.”
Garrard continued: “They are elite athletes and they are all internationals and the way they perform is outstanding.
“You have got a gaffer next to them who sends them on with great information and organisation and that side of things.
“That’s the biggest learning curve I’ve had this evening is listening to Frank Lampard. The way they play, the way he gives them freedom, and the information he passes on to them is amazing.
“For us we need to build on what we have this evening because like I said, to come to Goodison in the first 45 minutes of the game of football in the fifth round of the FA Cup was immense.”
