
Clichés abound when discussing the famously spendy city of London. The expected reactions at receiving a £7 pint and the predictable commentary around such a thing usually takes the form of a gasp, an eye roll, and the inevitable tap atop the card reader, before the would-be drinker reminisces about a time when £5 for a Peroni seemed steep.
Expensive drinks are commonplace in town and yes, the inevitable £10 pint does loom somewhere over the horizon, probably a few years away just yet, but it’s coming. Until then, and as ever with the great city, if one knows where to look, there are bargains to be had.
