Boots sold to Canada's Weston family in £6.7 billion takeover deal

High street retailer Boots is set to be acquired by the Canadian branch of the billionaire Weston family for 8.9 billion US dollars (£6.7 billion).

The Weston family holding company, Wittington Investments, will acquire the business from majority owner Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm, and the Pessina family.
