Mascara is a make-up bag staple but these days, many opt for false extensions for the ultimate fluttery eyelashes.
However, one woman claims her days of dropping cash on fake lashes are over after finding the "holy grail" of mascaras for just £4. Despite not being a fan of drugstore mascaras, reporter Alexandra Bullard headed to Boots to give one viral cosmetic a try.
After discovering the product through social media, Alexandra tested the 17. Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara that she bagged for £3 with her Boots advantage card. As well as its online popularity, Martin Lewis' co-star Angelica Bell also swears by it, making the bargain buy all the more intriguing.
Available online from the Boots website, shoppers have also praised the mascara that's received glowing online reviews, reports My London News. “Well this was a good surprise! For the price I didn't expect much, but its actually a very nice mascara and I will definitely buy it again,” wrote one happy customer.
Read below to find out how Alexandra got on in her own words after finally getting her hands on a tube of 17. Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara.
'Puts Charlotte Tilbury to shame'
Taking the mascara wand, I apply a few generous layers to my eyelids. I take a step back and I have to say I was rather impressed. This mascara had delivered on fanned-out, volumised, fluttery lashes - with no clumps in sight.
The next test was to see how long it would hold up. A few hours later I return home and see that my lashes are still pretty much the same with no smudging or flaking away. Most importantly, they looked natural.
I cannot overstate how much I love this mascara. It is quite literally a holy grail product and puts the likes of Charlotte Tilbury to shame. I’ve had a bit of an awakening.
What’s even more staggering is that it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I never need to use false extensions again if I want to achieve wide-awake lashes. Quite literally, this product is a masterpiece.
