Those heading to Dublin Airport this weekend and beyond will breathe a sigh of relief following the latest update from officials.
After weeks of chaos, missed flights, and frustration among passengers, the daa confirmed on Saturday that holidaymakers made it through the terminals “smoothly”, reports the Irish Mirror.
There has been widespread backlash online over recent weeks as thousands of passengers took to Twitter to vent their anger over lengthy queues and disorder, both inside and outside of the terminals.

From Friday morning, Dublin Airport opted to close the main drop-off road up to Terminal 1, to allow for marquees to be erected to protect those queuing outside from the elements - but it seems things are back moving now.
The daa took to social media on Saturday to confirm: “Passengers moving smoothly through departures once again this morning.
“This is the scene as departing passengers approach T1 at 7am. We wish everyone flying an enjoyable journey.”
According to a statement released earlier this week laying out the new system for departures, passengers were being advised to check specific timings for their journey.
A spokesperson for Dublin Airport confirmed: “Departures Road outside Terminal 1 @DublinAirport is now closed to all vehicles.
“Passenger drop-off has moved to our Atrium Road. Departing passengers can enter via our Atrium. This change will remain in place for the coming weeks.”
Airport staff continue to recommend that you allow 2.5 hours before a short-haul flight and 3.5 hours before a long-haul flight.
If checking a bag, verify your airline’s check-in and bag drop desk opening times, and if possible, allow up to one hour of additional time to check in luggage.
