As James Corden says goodbye to his American chat show, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and returns to the UK odds have shot up for a return of the hit sitcom Gavin & Stacey. James, alongside Welsh actress and writer Ruth Jones, created Gavin & Stacey and fans have been left on a cliffhanger ending since the last Christmas special in 2019.
Online bookmakers Ladbrokes have said there is a 50% chance that Gavin & Stacey will return, as a Christmas special or fourth series, before the end of 2024. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "James Corden and Ruth Jones left us with the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers last time Smithy and Nessa were on our screens... and with an imminent return to the UK on the cards for the former, more Gavin & Stacey feels inevitable."
James Corden touched upon the return of Gavin & Stacey as he appeared on Lorraine Kelly's ITV morning show on Thursday, April 27. When the anticipated question came of whether we are going to finally get a Gavin & Stacey Christmas special upon his return and finally find out if Smithy (Corden) says yes to Nessa's (Jones) proposal, James remained rather coy about it.

He said: "Gavin & Stacey... Look, Ruth's one of my best friends, I'm going to see her. I don't know if we'll talk about it. I saw her at Christmas and we didn't even really mention it, if I'm honest. It didn't even come up. We were talking about so much other stuff."
He concluded: "All I know is: We won't do it unless we think we can do something that won't let people down. We'll see what happens." You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
