The new general manager of Hull’s Bonus Arena is to throw open the doors to local business.
Darren Moore is now at the helm of the city venue, arriving from York Barbican when Dan Harris moved to Dubai with parent company ASM Global.
He will host a free networking event, outlining plans for 2022 and beyond, while explaining what the four-year-old arena can offer.
Built at a cost of £36 million, it opened in late summer 2018, and boasts a 3,500 capacity.
Having hosted more than 100 events in the first year, selling 200,000 tickets, like its contemporaries across the country Covid forced its closure.
Now, seven months since re-opening, the Myton Street team is keen to play a part in the community, as they aim to hit that number once again.
Darren said: “We have had a very exciting start to 2022 with lots of fantastic events and I am looking forward to meeting with partners and local businesses to talk to them about the arena and how we may be able to work together.”
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 18, from 9am to 10.30am, with food being laid on.
Paul Savage, head of entertainment sales and marketing, and Laura Harrison, conference and event sales executive, will also outline opportunities for businesses.
Paul said: “We have hosted some incredible events so far in 2022 with sold out shows from Blondie, Simply Red, John Bishop, Texas and Bastille. We have lots more to come too with gigs from Bryan Adams and The Pet Shop Boys in May and then performances from Kaiser Chiefs, Katherine Ryan and Hull’s very own Calum Scott later in the year.
“With over 200,000 people expected to visit the Arena in 2022, we have lots to talk about and look forward to welcoming businesses to see how we can work together.”
