Bono announces Dublin date for his new book tour

Bono has confirmed a Dublin date in his upcoming worldwide book tour for his memoir.

The singer will host a series of intimate performances to commemorate his first book, ‘Surrender: 40 songs, 1 story”, across Europe. The 62-year-old will bring his story to life for Dublin audiences at the Olympia Theatre on November 28.

Tickets for the event will cost €61.95 and will go on sale this Friday on October 7 . A two-ticket limit per person will be in place while booking for the event.

Bono said in a statement: “I miss being on stage and the closeness of U2’s audience. In these shows I’ve got some stories to sing, and some songs to tell… Plus I want to have some fun presenting my ME-moir, SURRENDER, which is really more of a WE-moir if I think of all the people who helped me get from there to here .”

The 40 chapters within the book are named after various U2 songs and explore Bono’s life in great detail, from childhood through to the present. The book examines his musical success, his lifelong advocacy against the HIV/AIDS crisis and poverty, as well as challenges in his personal life and early years growing up in Dublin. Bono has also illustrated 40 drawings to accompany the many anecdotes shared within the book.

The ‘Stories of Surrender’ tour will commence in New York City on November 2 and will arrive in Europe by the middle of the month. The memoir is published by Penguin Random House and will go on sale on November 1 .
