Bono and The Edge performed to an audience in Ukraine and praised their fight for freedom on Sunday.
The U2 rock stars belted out three songs, "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "Desire" and "With or without you" at a Kyiv metro station.
Speaking during a break, Bono said: "The people in Ukraine are not just fighting for your own freedom, you are fighting for all of us who love freedom.
"We pray that you will enjoy some of that peace soon."
Bono invited a Ukrainian soldier to sing along who called on the world's support for the embattled country as they covered "Stand by me".
The Irishman also referenced the Irish troubles and fight for freedom.
The stars were invited by President Zelenskyy and went down a hit with those in the bomb shelter as alarms sounded outside.
The band tweeted: "President @ZelenskyyUa invited us to perform in Kyiv as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and so that's what we've come to do. - Bono and The Edge #StandWithUkraine."
