Bolton Wanderers' squad value compared to Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth & Ipswich

Bolton Wanderers overhauled their squad in January and augmented it further in the summer to prepare for competing towards the top of League One this season.

Dion Charles, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Aaron Morley, Kieran Sadlier and Kyle Dempsey arrived from the second half of last campaign. The reinforcements helped the Whites finish ninth.

Over the summer, James Trafford returned on loan for the campaign from Manchester City. Young Liverpool prospects Conor Bradley and Owen Beck have joined for the season too.

In terms of permanent acquisitions, Jack Iredale has signed a three-year deal after joining from Cambridge United. Eoin Toal joined from Derry City meanwhile for an undisclosed fee.

Value has been added to Bolton's squad over the past year to complement the talent that was already at the University of Bolton Stadium. Wanderers sit in the top six in the early stages of this campaign.

As things stand, football statistics website Transfermarkt has ranked Bolton's squad value as the seventh highest in League One with Ian Evatt's side said to be worth more than £9.5m. Derby County's squad value tops the list at more than £20m.

Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth are second and third with squad values of more than £13m and £12m respectively. Barnsley, Ipswich Town and Wycombe Wanderers are the three sides directly ahead of the Whites.

At the other end of the scale, Morecambe have the lowest squad value in League One at present this season. The Shrimps' squad is valued at £5m.
