Dapo Afolayan could be in line for a rare start for Bolton against Barnsley.
Ian Evatt has afforded limited chances to last season's top scorers this campaign but has praised his impact off the bench in recent outings which could be enough to see him return to the starting side. Minutes from the off would be a first for Afolayan since facing Sheffield Wednesday in mid-August.
Elsewhere in the side Evatt will likely allow Declan John to retain his place in the starting line-up after an impressive performance, particularly in the second half, against Forest Green Rovers in spite of defeat.
Having an attacking threat will be key against a Barnsley side who are level on points with Wanderers heading into this one, occupying the final play-off spot in League One as things stand. It will be a measure of where Evatt's side are at this stage of the campaign as he looks to find a consistent side capable of challenging for promotion after building over recent times.
As ever the likes of Conor Bradley and Dion Charles will be important figures should they wish to take something with a home fixture something they will welcome after consecutive defeats on the road against Cheltenham Town and the aforementioned Forest Green.
Here is how we expect Ian Evatt to line-up for Saturday's game.
Bolton predicted XI: Trafford; Jones, Santos, Johnston; Bradley, Williams, Thomason, John; Lee; Charles, Afolayan.
