A sea of red and black will descend on Cabra today as the funeral of Bohs club stalwart Derek 'Mono' Monaghan takes place.
Derek tragically died last Wednesday, August 17, leaving behind his wife Elayne and three children Adam, Zara and Sienna. For the last six days tributes have been spread from far and wide across Dublin and beyond.
Known as one of Bohemian FC's biggest supporters and most important staff members, Mono has been reposing in the Player's Lounge of Dalymount since Sunday with his funeral to take place at 12pm today in Christ the King Church in Cabra. His family have requested that those in attendance wear Bohs colours in tribute to him.

A fundraiser for his family has seen more than €63k raised with more than 1.4k donations. He was known as a person who helped many in his multiple roles as DJ, to bar manager, to pitchside announcer, to steward.
A touching tribute from Bohemian FC says: "On matchdays, Mono’s beaming smile was often the first thing to greet players and staff on arrival, and that same beaming smile would be the last thing so many supporters saw at the end of the night as he pulled the shutters down in the Members’ Bar after last orders.
"From the children he laid on Christmas parties for every year to the old folks’ dance in the Members’ Bar every Sunday, Mono uplifted generations of Bohs fans. Mono’s good form was infectious. He always had a kind word for everyone and everyone always had a kind word for Mono.
"He was a constant positive presence in the lives of so many at the club and we are all struggling to comprehend life at Dalymount without him. Football clubs really are all about people and Mono was one that made ours so special."
Among those who shared their shock at his death was singer Johnny Logan who considered Mono a friend throughout his years of support for Bohs.
He said: "Always smiling, laughing. He was kind, warm-hearted, a loving husband, father who adored his family. When I get home l will put on my Bohs Jersey and remember it was him who made sure I had it to wear. I wish there were more people like Mono in this world, it’s a sadder place without him."
