Ortberg's strategic moves indicate his commitment to overhauling Boeing's production processes and enhancing quality control measures, which have been under scrutiny in recent years. The previous CEO, Dave Calhoun, inherited a challenging situation following the 737 Max crisis, which resulted in Boeing pleading guilty to a fraud conspiracy charge related to the tragic crashes in 2018 and 2019 that claimed 346 lives.
