A BODY has been recovered from the River Clyde.
Emergency services were called to the river at the Erskine Bridge at around 2.40am on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, following a report of concern for a person.
A full multi-agency response was launched, involving Police Scotland, HM Coastguard, the Scottish Ambulance Service, and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
Efforts are underway to establish the person's identity and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as enquiries continue.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.40am on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, officers were called to the River Clyde at Erskine Bridge following a report of concern for a person.
“Emergency services attended and a body was recovered from the water.
"The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the person’s identity.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
An HM Coastguard spokesperson said: "An HM Coastguard helicopter and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Clydebank, Greenock and Helensburgh were sent to an incident at Erskine Bridge reported at about 3.20am on July 21."
