The body of a man has been found in Wirral dock one day after police received reports of a concern for safety in the area.
Merseyside police was called at 10.15pm yesterday, April 10, sparking a huge search and rescue operation, with "at least a dozen" emergency vehicles, including fire engines, being spotted behind the Hythe building, near Wirral Met College's Wirral Waters campus.
At around 2.15pm today, April 11, the body of a man was found in the water. Paramedics attended and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
Merseyside police said: "At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and the man's next of kin has been informed."
