Body of man discovered in south Dublin house as investigation launched

The body of a man was discovered in a house in South Dublin last week.

The grim discovery was made in a home on the Sallynoggin Road Lower at around 12:25pm on Wednesday afternoon, February 2.

Gardai attended the scene and the man's body was removed to The Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem took place.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live that the results of the post-mortem are not being released for operational reasons.

She said: "Gardaí in Dun Laoghaire are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the discovery of a body at a house on Sallynoggin Road Lower on the afternoon of Wednesday 2nd February, 2022.

"At approximately 12:25pm, the body of a male was discovered at a house. Gardaí attended the scene and the body was removed from the scene to The Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem took place, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

"A file is now being prepared for the coroners court."
