A man's body has been found in the Grand Canal near Portobello this afternoon.
The body was found in the water earlier today near the Portobello Harbour.
The remains have been transported to Dublin City Morgue for a post mortem to take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.
Gardai have said they are currently investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery a body of a man in the Grand Canal at Portobello, Dublin 2 this afternoon, 3rd March 2022.
"The body has been removed to Dublin City Morgue where a post mortem will take place.
"The results of the post mortem will determine the course of this investigation."
