The body of a 64-year-old man was discovered on the side of the A81 at Strathblane last week.
The Observer understands that the man was cycling along the route when he became ill and pulled over to the side of the road.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.50pm on Friday, April 29, emergency services attended the A81 at Strathblane, following concern for a 64-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There were no suspicious circumstances and a report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
