Body of girl, 15, pulled from water following huge police search

The body of a teenage girl was tragically pulled from Carr Mill Dam on Thursday (June 1) following a huge emergency services search.

Police and paramedics were called out to the water, in St Helens near the Wigan border, at around 12.30pm following reports of a concern for the safety of a girl who was in distress while swimming with friends.

Merseyside Police have since confirmed that the body of a girl, aged 15, has been recovered. A huge emergency services presence was seen at Carr Mill Dam throughout Thursday afternoon including fire crews and paramedics.
