Police have closed off a public square in the middle of Johnstone after the body of a 58-year-old man was discovered earlier on Saturday.
Officers were called to Houston Square in the Renfrewshire town shortly before 3am on Saturday May 13, where they confirmed that the man had died.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained while detectives carry out enquiries.
Images shared with the Record show scene of crime officers wearing white full-body overalls unpacking equipment at the scene while uniformed officers stand guard at a police cordon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55am on Saturday, 13th May, 2023, police received a report of a 58-year-old man’s body being found in Houston Square, Johnston.
"Officers are in attendance and the death is being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing."
