A body has been found on a beach in Ayrshire amid the search for missing man David Wylie who vanished almost three weeks ago.
The discovery was made near Seamill on the coastline of North Ayrshire around 6.15am on Monday, April 10.
Police say the body has yet to be identified but the family of missing David, 41, have been notified.
In recent days, specialist officers have been searching land and water in the area where he disappeared. The last sighting of David was at 12.30am on March 23 on Hillside Street in Stevenston, Ayrshire, where he was 'well-known' and often seen walking his dog.
His Collie was still at the family home when he vanished and he is believed to have had no access to a phone or money.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said this morning: "The body of a man was found on the beach near Seamill around 6.15am on Monday, 10 April.
"He is still to be formally identified but the family of David Wylie, 41, who had been reported missing from Stevenston on Thursday, 23 March, have been made aware.
