The search for a 34-year-old woman who went missing in the early hours of Sunday morning has been stood down after her body was found on Tuesday night.
Gardai in Waterford had appealed to members of the public to contact them if they had any information on the whereabouts of Kathleen Gallagher Lavery who was last seen outside the pub Ittty Bittys bar on Bank Lane in Waterford city on December 18.
Waterford Marine Search and Rescue volunteers recovered Ms Gallagher Lavery’s body from the River Suir.
In a statement they said: “Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Kathleen’s family and friends at this time. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.”
Ms Gallagher Lavery had been on a night out with friends and her partner when she went missing. When last seen Ms Gallagher Lavery who is 5’6” in height with red long curly hair, was wearing a green sparkle jumpsuit, silver sparkly boots, a cream fur coat and a Guess black cross bag with gold straps.
Harrie Gallagher Lavery said on social media: “My beautiful sister’s body was found today in Waterford.
“Thank you to An Garda Síochana, her fantastic friends and to everyone who shared her photo over the last few days. We can bring her home now”.
