Body found in stone circle after summer solstice as police launch murder investigation

  • A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a 26-year-old man was discovered at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in the Peak District .
  • The man's body was found on Monday afternoon at the Bronze Age site in Stanton Lees, Derbyshire, following a summer solstice event.
  • Derbyshire Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family has been informed and is being supported.
  • Detective Inspector Tony Owen is urgently appealing for anyone who attended the summer solstice event between 19 and 23 June to come forward.
  • Police are seeking witnesses and anyone with video footage from the event to help establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
