A body has been found in the search for a missing Scots pensioner.
Officers were called to the grim discovery of a body in Inverness yesterday evening, Wednesday October 12. Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of Elanor Mallet have been informed.
Police say there are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. The 65-year-old was last seen in the Milton of Leys area of the city at around 1.30pm on Saturday, 8 October.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a woman was found in Inverness during the evening of Wednesday, October 12. Formal identification is still to take place but the family of Eleanor Mallet, 65, who had been reported missing from Inverness, has been informed.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
