A body has been found during a police search for missing Wishaw man James McDonald.
Police Scotland confirmed the tragic discovery was made around 5.20pm on Friday, July 8 on Grampian Road, Wishaw.
Formal identification has yet to take place but cops have informed the family of James, 40, who was reported missing from Wishaw this week.
He was last seen in the Netherton area of the town at around 1.45pm on Thursday afternoon.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.20pm on Friday, 8 July, 2022 the body of a man was discovered in Grampian Road, Wishaw.
"Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of James McDonald, 40, who has been missing since Thursday, July 7 has been made aware.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
