A body has been found in the search for missing Scots man Matthew Cosgrove.
The 56-year-old was reported missing from the Lanark area 3.30pm on Sunday, February 26, with police launching an urgent appeal to trace him.
Officers have now confirmed a body has been found in the search for Matthew in the Lesmahagow area on Friday, March 3.
Formal identification is yet to take place but his family have been informed. His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland statement said: "We can confirm that a body has been found by officers searching for missing man Matthew Cosgrove.
"Officer found the body of a man in the Lesmahagow area on Friday, 3 March, 2023.
"Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of the missing 56-year-old who was reported missing on Sunday, 26 February, 2023 have been made aware.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
