In the same statement from Community Rescue Service Northern District, a spokesperson said the team were also tasked to other incidents.
They said: "Early 6th October, CRS were tasked to the Carrickfergus area to search for a high risk missing person...
"Whilst en route to the Carrickfergus area, CRS were alerted by our colleagues in City Centre CCTV and PSNI of an incident unfolding on the River Lagan where a person was in distress on a bridge over the river.
"Some of our volunteers diverted to this incident and worked in conjunction with the River Lagan Wardens who had quickly launched their boat and were quickly on scene at the incident location. Together with the PSNI, the incident was brought to a quick and safe conclusion.
"At the same time, CRS along with the PSNI were conducting extensive systematic searches throughout the Carrickfergus area which continued throughout the day. Thankfully the missing person was located safe."
The spokesperson added: "On returning to base our volunteers were cleaning vehicles and restocking kit ready for the next shout. It came quicker than expected and we were alerted by CCTV and PSNI of a person in distress in the water in the vicinity of the SSE Arena.
"Thanks to the quick actions of the PSNI, Belfast Harbour Police and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service deploying a life ring to the person, we were able to bring them back to safety where they where treated by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
"The weekend saw our safety patrols around the River Lagan in Belfast continue. Again our volunteers were able to provide life-saving services to our community with three people being assisted to safety."
The team were also deployed on Tuesday night.
Community Rescue Service said: "Around midnight last night [Tuesday] our Western volunteers were deployed to search for a high risk missing person. The missing person was located safe and our volunteers were able to return home in the early hours.
"We would like to thank all of the agencies involved with the different incidents, the community and local businesses and of course our volunteers who without a second thought give up their own personal and work time to help those in need."
