Body found in search for missing Kilwinning man Andrew Linton

A body has been found in the search for missing Kilwinning man Andrew Linton.

Police have confirmed this evening that a body was discovered in Eglinton Park this morning.

Officials have said that formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the missing 43-year-old has been informed of the discovery.

Cops also said that there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The statement from Police Scotland reads: "Around 11am on Sunday, 26 March, 2023 the body of a man was found in Eglinton Country Park.

"Formal identification has yet to take place however the family of missing man Andrew Linton has been informed.

"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Andrew went missing more than one month ago.

The North Ayrshire Council worker was last seen in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning around 5.35am on Wednesday, February 22.

Mr Linton’s wife Alison previously said: “Andrew is a family man, married with four grown stepsons and a granddaughter Myla, age three."
