A body has been found in Lanarkshire woodlands amid a search for missing Kilsyth man Alexander McMillan.
The discovery was made on Wednesday (June 1) in Barrhill Forest between Kilsyth and Kinkintilloch around 5.10pm.
Police say that formal identification is yet to take place, however the family of the 46-year-old, who has been missing since April 25, have been informed.
Investigating officers have also confirmed that Mr McMillan's death is not being treated as suspicious.
Lanarkshire Police Division confirmed the sad news via a statement today (Thursday, June 2).

It reads: "We can confirm that the body of a man was found around 5.10pm on Wednesday, I June, in Barrhill Forest, Kilsyth, Lanarkshire.
"Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of 46-year-old Alexander McMillan, who has been missing since Monday, 25 April, 2022, has been made aware.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
