The body of a man has been discovered in Lesmahagow during a search for a missing Lanarkshire man.
Police say the man was found in the Devonburn Road area of the village around 4pm on Thursday afternoon.
Formal identification has yet to take place, however the family of Stephen McGinily, 51, who was reported missing from the Quarter area of Hamilton, has been made aware.
A Police Scotland spokesman told Lanarkshire Live : "The death is being treated as unexplained, but there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
Police launched an appeal to help find Stephen on Wednesday after he was reported missing from the Hamilton area, with officers saying at the time that “concerns are growing” for his welfare.
The 51-year-old was last seen leaving his home address in the Quarter area of the town around 5am on July 14.
