Body found in search for missing Cardiff man

Police searching for a missing man have sadly confirmed they have found a body. Officers had been searching Wenallt Woods in Rhiwbina, Cardiff for missing man Rocklyn Saunders, 41, and have now confirmed a body was found there.

Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Saunders' family have been informed. South Wales Police has also confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident.

In a statement issued on Saturday, January 21, South Wales Police said: "Police looking for missing man Rocklyn Saunders, 41, have found the body of a man in Wenallt Woods, Rhiwbina, Cardiff. Although formal identification has not yet been carried out, Rocklyn’s family have been informed. The statement comes after more than 1,000 people shared a social media appeal from South Wales Police asking for the public to be on the look-out for Mr Saunders. The appeal, shared on Friday, January 23, said: "Help Us Find: Rocklyn Saunders, 41, from Rwibina Cardiff has been reported missing.

"There has been no contact from Rocklyn since Monday (January 16) & there are concerns for his welfare. Rocklyn is around 6ft tall, slim, with blue eyes & fair hair. He has a very small scar on the forehead and usually has a small amount of stubble. Please contact us with any information or sightings quoting occurrence *019690."
