A body has been found in the search for missing Laurel Aldridge, 62, who is the sister-in-law of The Office actor Mackenzie Crook.
On Saturday afternoon, police confirmed a body had been discovered in the Tortington Lane area of Arundel, West Sussex.
Formal identification is yet to take place but Lauren's family have been informed.
The tragic update comes after a major search was launched for Lauren when she was reported missing from her home in Walberton on February 14.
Her brother-in-law Mackenzie made various public appeals in a desperate attempt to trace her and he appeared on Good Morning Britain just days ago.
Speaking on the show, he said: "She was diagnosed with cancer last year and she missed her fifth chemo session last Tuesday and we think that's what has triggered some sort of crisis in her and she's gone off for a long walk somewhere.
"We are really clutching at straws now after a week."
The British actor, who is known for roles in The Office, Pirates Of The Caribbean and Worzel Gummidge, added: "At the moment everyone is containing their emotions, I'm sure the time will come for that later but right now everyone is very determined and driven.
"We've got a strong suspicion that she is in the local area but that's just a hunch we're going on. We can't imagine that she has gone very far afield."
In a statement released today, Sussex Police said: "Sadly the body of a woman has been found in the Tortington Lane area of Arundel.
"At this stage, the family of missing Laurel Aldridge have been informed and we are seeking to confirm the identity of the woman."
