Body found in Glasgow amid search for missing Scot Charles McCallum

A body has been found in Glasgow amid the search for missing man Charles McCallum.

Police discovered the remains in the water near Snuff Mill Road in Cathcart, Glasgow at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, March 1.

Officers have cordoned off the walkway between Snuff Mill Bridge to Millholm Road, according to witnesses.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries into the exact circumstances surrounding are ongoing.

The person's identity has yet to be established but the family of missing Charles McCallum, 64, have been made aware.

Charles has been missing from his home on Cartside Road in the Busby area of East Renfrewshire for over a week.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Tuesday, 1 March, the body of a man was discovered in the water near Snuff Mill Road, Cathcart.

"Officers are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identity.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time. The family of missing man Charles McCallum have been made aware.”
