A man has been found dead at a Lanarkshire home after an incident last night.
Cops were called to the scene on Thorndean Avenue in Bellshill with reports of a man being injured at the property.
The 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland are treating the death as "unexplained" as they launch a probe into the incident.
It took place at around 11.30pm last night (May 18).
Officers were spotted combing the scene on the Bellshill street today.
One eyewitness was in the area today and described it as a "grim scene" as he told us a number of police vehicles were in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : "We were made aware of a 56-year-old man who was found injured at a property in Thorndean Avenue, Bellshill, around 11.30pm on Wednesday.
"Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage."
