A body discovered in Fife this week has been confirmed to be missing man Ross McLean.
Police in the area issued a statement on Friday (August 26), after the body was formally identified as the 34-year-old, who was last seen nearly two weeks ago.
On August 19, officers had found a body near the Glenrothes area, with Ross' family informed of the ahead of a formal identification, which has now been confirmed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
An appeal had been launched on August 14 to try and trace the 34-year-old after he was last seen leaving an address on Balgonie Place that afternoon.

Speaking in a statement on Friday, a Police Scotland spokesperson said:
"The body of a man found near to Glenrothes on Friday, 19 August, 2022, has been formally identified as missing person Ross McLean.
"Ross’ family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
