A man aged 18 was killed when the BMW he was driving collided with a lorry parked in a layby on a dual-carriageway. The incident happened on the A40 Golden Valley Bypass in Gloucestershire at 11pm on Friday (September 30).
The BMW 1 Series was in collision with a DAF truck on the eastbound carriageway of the road that links Gloucester and Cheltenham, near junction 11 for the M5, Gloucestershire Live reports.
The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the stationary DAF truck suffered minor injuries.
Closures remained in place on the A40 in both directions this morning. (October 1, 2022). Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who either witnessed the incident or saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward.

"An 18-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision on the A40 Golden Valley Bypass last night, Friday 30 September, and police are appealing for information. Shortly after 11pm police responded to a report a car had collided with a stationary heavy-goods vehicle parked in a layby.
"The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway between the A417 (Elmbridge Court roundabout, Gloucester) and M5 junction 11 (Cheltenham). It involved a white BMW 1 Series and a DAF truck.
"The single occupant of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
"The driver who was inside the stationary DAF truck sustained minor injuries. Closures remain in place on the A40 in both directions this morning, Saturday 1 October.
"Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who either witnessed the incident or saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward. Police are also keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage."
