The third season premiere of BMF on Starz has broken records, attracting its largest audience yet. The drama's debut on March 1 garnered an impressive 5.1 million cross-platform viewers over its opening weekend, marking the best performance for the series to date. This figure represents a significant increase of one million viewers compared to the season two premiere in January 2023, reflecting a nearly 25 percent jump from season to season.
As is common with premium cable shows, the majority of viewership for BMF did not come from its on-air premiere, which averaged 250,000 viewers. However, this on-air viewership also saw an increase from the season two opener, which had 170,000 viewers. Only about 5 percent of the total viewership over the three-day period came from the on-air premiere. The 5.1 million total viewership figure includes replays and streaming, with an estimated 4.85 million viewers accessing the show through streaming platforms.
Following the successful premiere weekend, Starz announced the renewal of BMF for a fourth season. The series, produced by Lionsgate Television and Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson's G-Unit Film and Television, tells the story of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who founded the Black Mafia Family in Detroit during the 1980s. Season three of BMF shifts the narrative to the '90s as the brothers expand their criminal enterprise to Atlanta.
The show features a talented cast including Demetrius Flenory Jr., Da’Vinchi, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Steve Harris, Kelly Hu, La La Anthony, Sydney Mitchell, and Laila D. Pruitt. Executive producers of BMF include Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, series creator Randy Huggins, showrunner Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson, and Anne Clements.
