Alex James, the bassist of Britpop band Blur, is to host three events in London to celebrate football and music ahead of the World Cup.

The 57-year-old musician will take over a pop-up space in Trafalgar Square this month with the hope of bringing fans together ahead of England’s group-stage matches.
