After the Houston Astros cheating scandal that rocked the baseball world, fans have been quite vigilant in looking out for suspicious activity from other teams.
But, as is often the case nowadays, essentially all cries of cheating end up being false alarms blown well out of proportion. Remember Joe Musgrove’s glossy ears, after all?
On Monday, the New York Yankees were visiting the Toronto Blue Jays in a rout of a game. Something caught the attention of the Blue Jays’ broadcast during the eighth inning as Aaron Judge was up to bat. After Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call, Judge was seen side-eyeing his dugout during the at-bat.
The Blue Jays’ broadcast called attention to it, stating that it looked suspicious. Then, moments later, Judge blasted a home run to extend the Yankees’ lead to 7-0.

So, what was really going on here? No, Judge wasn’t cheating and he wasn’t reading tipped pitches like people believed. In fact, Judge was looking over at the Yankees’ dugout because his teammates were still shouting at the umpire after Boone’s ejection.
