Blow to Microsoft as takeover of Call of Duty maker Activision faces watchdog investigation

Microsoft’s $69 billion (£60 billion) takeover of video games maker Activision Blizzard has been put on hold after the UK competition watchdog announced a full-scale investigation into the deal.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) made the decision after the Seattle-based X-box maker failed to offer reassurances to address competition concerns.
