Boxing's ever complex negotiating landscape looks set to delay Katie Taylor's return to the ring until 2023.
That's because another of her most lucrative options as an opponent has indicated if they do meet, it won't be until next year.
Former UFC champion and MMA legend Cris Cyborg has stated that she isn't intent on hurrying into a November or December bout.

The 37-year-old veteran understandably wants a longer rest period between any match-up with Katie and her upcoming pro boxing debut on September 25 against Simone Silva.
Cyborg remains keen on facing Katie someday but would rather have more time to adapt to swapping the octagon for the ring as well as that allowing additional time to promote such a huge crossover fight.
In an interview with No Smoke Boxing she indicated her team continue to speak to Matchroom about a possible bout but revealed it won't be happening in the near future.
She also described the Bray Bomber as "such an icon in the sport of boxing it would be a great matchup between two legendary names in combat sports.”
The most obvious obstacle to this fight ever occurring is that Cyborg is a much bigger woman than Taylor.
She traditionally fights at almost two stone heavier than the Bray woman so they would have to meet in the middle weight-wise.
When that complication was broached, Cyborg attempted to get under Taylor's skin by challenging her ego as the far more accomplished boxer.
She added: “I have a little bit of a size advantage on her but she has 100’s of amateur fights and over 20 professional fights worth of ring experience compared to me in boxing and so I think it’s only fair she does like what Floyd Mayweather was willing to do against Conor McGregor and give me a bit of size to make the matchup interesting for the fans."
This all comes after Amanda Serrano's bout with Sarah Mahfoud was rescheduled for September 24 in Manchester.
The pair had been scheduled to clash on the undercard of Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr earlier this month in New York, but the MSG event was scrapped after Youtuber Paul withdrew from his bout over an argument surrounding Rahman Jr's weight.
Serrano v Mahfoud will now take place on the undercard of Joe Joyce v Joseph Parker, with the latter of those fighters trained by former world middleweight champion and Limerick native Andy Lee.
The Puerto Rican holds the WBO, WBC and IBO belts at 126lbs, while Mahfoud has the IBF strap.
