Blossoms announce TWO Manchester gigs as part of huge UK and Ireland tour

Blossoms have announced details of an extensive UK tour for November and December 2022, and they’ll be heading to the 02 Apollo in Manchester for two nights. The Stockport five-piece will be back on their home turf on Thursday, December 8 and Friday, December 9.

The 21-date tour will also call at Bristol, Glasgow, Dublin and London’s 02 Academy Brixton. Tickets for the tour will go live at 9am on Friday, August 5.

Blossoms have already played a series of huge gigs this summer, including the headline spot at Y Not? Festival and Truck, as well as their widely praised Glastonbury set, which included a guest appearance from Spice Girl Mel C. The indie band have also been on the road with The Killers, supporting them at several of their UK stadium shows.

The tour will likely be in support of Blossom’s fourth studio album, ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’, which was released back in April this year and has not only received rave reviews but also a UK Number 1 album spot. The creative direction of the album and its videos was developed by Arctic Monkeys’ creative director Edwin Burdis, who also directed an accompanying film for the album featuring performances of the band, and premiered at Stockport Plaza.

The band last played an intimate hometown gig to promote the album at Stockport Plaza back in May, before embarking on the summer schedule of festivals and gigs. The show was briefly interrupted when a firm alarm went off prior to their performance, but luckily the incident was only a false alarm.

They also put on an album release party at the newly refurbished Band on the Wall in Manchester city in May. Since forming back in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and built a strong following both at home and away.

Their 2016 debut ‘Blossoms’ topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations, while 2018’s 'Cool Like You' charted at Number 4 in the UK album chart, spanning anthemic singles I Can’t Stand It, There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and How Long Will This Last? Their third studio album, 2020’s 'Foolish Loving Spaces' was the band’s second UK Number 1 album, while their latest included standout tracks like Ode to NYC, The Sulking Poet and Care For.

Tickets for Blossoms 21-date tour go on sale this Friday at 9am. Tickets can be purchased via their official website, or from Ticketmaster and GigsandTours.
