Blood remains splattered across the street this morning after a man was found injured on a city centre street.
Police were called by paramedics to a scene outside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, after they arrived at the scene at around 5am on Tuesday, July 4. They responded to a report that a man, in his 40s, had been found with injuries to his head and face, at the junction of Myrtle Street and Sugnall Street.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, according to officers. An investigation is now underway with witness and CCTV enquiries being carried out in the local area.

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: "We are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry to establish what has taken place.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Myrtle Street/Sugnall Street in the early hours of this morning who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact us. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log 111 of 4th July."
A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We are investigating following reports a man was found injured in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 4th July.
"Officers were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at just before 5am following reports a man in his 40s had been found with injuries to his head and face at the junction of Myrtle Street and Sugnall Street.
"His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. An investigation is underway and witness and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area."
