A teenage boy had a lucky escape after he was saved by a passing nurse.
The youngster, who the MEN understands is 16 years old, was the victim of an attack on Bury Street, in Radcliffe at around 5pm yesterday (June 18). Neighbours have told of their shock after he walked into the road in a desperate attempt to flag down a passing car for help
"My friend was getting dropped off in a taxi at about 5pm and we saw the lad, he tried to get into the taxi," one shocked resident told the MEN.

"He was wandering in the road and he stopped a car, it was a nurse. She got a tourniquet on his arm."
She added: "She got a tourniquet on so there wasn't a lot of blood but he was in and out of consciousness and in a lot of pain."
An ambulance arrived at the scene around 5.10pm and residents were later told by police that the victim would not have made it without their help.
"He wouldn't have survived if that nurse hadn't been there," another neighbour said. "The police told us that she saved his life."
Witnesses also spotted CSI teams in the area after police has cordoned off a car park on Bury Street, next to Radcliffe Methodist Primary School. Later, blood stains could be seen on the ground close to the spot of the alleged attack.
Another resident said: "I came out and looked at around 5.30pm or 6pm and there were police everywhere. Then I saw someone just lying on the ground."
Officers have since arrested two males on suspicion of assault.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "Police were called to reports of an injured male on Bury Road, Radcliffe, at around 5.13pm today (Saturday 17 June 2023). The male was taken to hospital for treatment on injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
"Two males have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. Enquiries are ongoing."
